EXPERTS URGE CAUTION WHEN RELATING MENTAL HEALTH TO MASS CASUALTY SHOOTINGS

Mental Health Illness is NOT a Reason to Kill People

Mental illness is not a justification for killing two people. Though he might have had a behavioral health issue, his illness is not necessarily why he acted violently. This individual was evil.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EXPERTS URGE CAUTION WHEN RELATING MENTAL HEALTH TO MASS CASUALTY SHOOTINGS

Jacksonville, Fla. – Behavioral health experts are urging the public to be cautious when relating mental health to mass shooting incidents. Following the shooting at The Landings in Jacksonville, it came to light that the suspected shooter, David Katz, 24, had a history of diagnosed mental illness. But Tracy Riley, Psy.D, founder of Tracy Riley Counseling says there are likely many other reasons this individual took the lives of two men and injured countless others.

“Mental illness is not a justification for killing two people,” Dr. Riley says. “Though he might have had a behavioral health issue, his illness is not necessarily why he acted violently. This individual was evil and made a conscious decision to hurt others.”

Dr. Riley believes that he lacked impulse control, empathy for others and was selfish. But those are not typically qualifiers for mental illness. Something else was likely a part of this man’s choice to commit murder.

Behavioral health experts have also made great headway in removing the stigma from mental illness. After this and other incidents, Dr. Riley fears associating mass shootings with mental illness will reverse that trend.

“This is a huge disservice to those who truly have a mental health issue,” she said. “The majority of people with a mental illness are not violent and do not deserve to be associated with such behavior.”

Dr. Riley wants to ensure that seeking help for a mental health condition is encouraged. Those with mental health issues need to be able to be comfortable discussing their mental health needs and pursuing care. If stigmas are attached to behavioral health patients, they may deny their condition and treatment, resulting in tragic results such as prolonged depression and anxiety or even suicide.

“Mental health is not a medical catch-all for the evil in this world,” said Dr. Riley. “Instead, let’s treat behavioral health conditions for what they are – a medical issue no different from cancer, diabetes or other health conditions. Only when we do that can we ensure the health and well-being of our loved ones and all those suffering from mental health issues.”

Flexible Packaging Market Worth 243.7 Billion USD By 2023, By Meticulous Research

Flexible Packaging Market

Flexible Packaging Market By Material (Plastics, Paper, Aluminum Foil, Bioplastics), Design Type Stand-Up Pouch, Spouted Pouch, Gusseted Bags, Rollstocks)

According to the PlasticsEurope- one of the leading European trade associations, in 2016, the global plastic production was recorded at 335 million tonnes, out of which, 39.9% was used in packaging.”

— viren

EMBLEY, , MIDDLESEX, UNITED KINGDOM, August 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — According to this latest publication from Meticulous Research®, the global Flexible Packaging Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.7% from 2018 to 2023 to reach USD 243.7 billion by 2023, driven by factors such as downgauging of plastic films, shift from traditional rigid packaging to flexible packaging, easy transportation and storage along with sustainable properties, increasing consumer focus on convenience and sustainability, and improving barrier properties. Furthermore, factors such as growing adoption of specialty films in the packaging industry, the proliferation of bio-based plastic films, emerging markets, falling crude oil prices, and a shift in food service from frozen to map packaged products offer significant growth opportunities for the market players during the forecast period.

Read more below, or download now: https://www.meticulousresearch.com/download-sample-report/?cp_id=4220

The global flexible packaging market study presents historical market data in terms of value (2016 and 2017), estimated current data (2018) and forecasts for 2023 – by material (plastics, paper, aluminum foil, bioplastics, and recycled cellulose fiber), design (pouches, bags and trays, rollstocks, squeezable bottles, blisters, and wraps), and industry verticals (food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, household and personal care, tobacco products, industrial and chemical products, and oil and lubricants). The study also evaluates industry competitors and analyzes the market at regional and country level.

The plastic packaging material is being widely adopted owing to its distinctive attributes such as flexibility, sustainability, and light weight. In addition, this material is highly economical and can be used by all industries irrespective of their scale of operations, and is easy to reuse and recycle. The plastics held a significant share in 2017; however, paper and aluminum foil are set to be the emerging and rapidly growing materials in the forecast period.

The polyethylene plastic comprised the major market share in 2017 owing to its flexibility, good-low temperature performance, durability, high moisture barrier, and the ability to seal itself without coating which fuels their adoption in the packaging of consumer goods. Polypropylene is an integral part of the flexible packaging market. This segment is expected to witness the fastest growth mainly attributed to its usage in the packaging of food materials owing to its characteristics such as light weight, heat resistance; and a moderate barrier to moisture, gases, and odors which is not affected by changes in humidity. Furthermore, the strength and high melting point of polypropylene have made it the single most used plastic. Also, the high clarity of polypropylene provides transparency for the packaging of food materials.

The pouches holds the major share and are expected to witness positive growth over next few years, mainly attributed to their growing adoption as they are easy-to-use light weight packages providing mess-free dispensing; provides 99% product evacuation; and are suitable for all types of liquid packaging. Further, pouches are produced with high seal integrity that provides safety and longer shelf-life to inside food product, which will certainly drive its adoption in the food and beverage industry. The standup pouches commanded the largest share in 2017; however, the spouted pouches are expected to witness the fastest growth during the forecast period.

In 2017, the food and beverage industry captured a major share owing to the rising consumption of packaged food items globally. Proper packaging enables easier and more successful transportation of food and pharmaceutical products. There is a great potential for advanced packaging in emerging nations owing to increasing consumption of packaged food items and increasing concerns related to health and nutrition that further drives the demand for advanced packaging in the food and beverage industry. Moreover, rapid urbanization, modern retail trade, and technological advancements provide an opportunity to promote flexible packaging in the food and beverages industry during the forecast period (2018-2023).

This research report analyzes major geographies and provides comprehensive analysis of North America (U.S., Canada, and Mexico), Europe (Germany, U.K., France, Italy, Spain, and RoE), Asia-Pacific (Japan, China, India, Australia, and RoAPAC), Latin America, and the Middle East & Africa. Asia Pacific region captured a significant share in 2017 and is expected to register the highest CAGR during the forecast period. Growing consumption of beverages in Asia-Pacific region, and e-commerce and digitalization trend offer endless opportunities in the packaging industry and support the greater consumption and fastest growth in this region.

This growth is in tangent with Tourism Ireland’s report which stated that overall overseas tourism to Ireland grew almost 4% year over year. So far everything is looking to be on course for 2018 to be an even busier year for Irish tourism and travel.

“We saw quite an increase in Ireland vacations and trips booked in 2017 compared to 2016,” says Karen Murphy of IrishTravel.ca, “And we’re very excited that the momentum is carrying throughout 2018 as well.”

Of the vacations in Ireland that are being booked, Karen added that, “We’re mostly getting bookings for guided coach tours of Ireland. People often travel to Ireland for the history and the sight-seeing, so having a guided tour of Ireland is often the best way to travel there.”

As it stands so far, 2018 is on track to be another year of growth for tourism in Ireland. One economic factor seems to be the decrease in travel to Britain. Those who were looking to travel to Britain may instead be choosing to travel to Ireland.
