Kickstarter Campaign Launches for All-Ages, Artistic Upkeep Board Game

CAMBRIDGE, NZ, June 1, 2020 / — The team behind Upkeep, a strategic family board game about maintaining a clean lawn, is hoping to fund the manufacturing of their game through Kickstarter. Their goal is to raise $7,600 USD by June 22 and are offering their visually appealing game, as well as a deluxe version, at a special discount on Kickstarter.

Upkeep is an interactive board game that friends and families can play cooperatively or competitively. The game can be enjoyed by up to 4 people of all ages and takes only 30 to 60 minutes to play through.

Upkeep challenges its players to keep their yard clean of autumn leaves while traversing unusually stormy weather. Players can use their dice, helper cards, and recycling bin tiles to help them clean the lawn, but weather cards can cause more leaves to fall and make the game more difficult.

This puzzle game comes with mechanics that ensure every round of falling leaves is different than the last, offering endless opportunities for strategic thinking. Game difficulty can be controlled by the players by removing or adding storm cards, which allows the game to be casual or more intense and competitive. Given how easy it is to alter the level of difficulty, and how versatile the overall game is, Upkeep can be played in four different ways: casual, normal, competitive, and cooperative.

One of the things that separate Upkeep from other board games is its beautiful art style. Every piece of the game is meticulously designed to be bright, colorful, and eye-catching. This includes the four unique player boards, the recycling bin tiles, the player markers, the storm cards, and the gorgeous wooden tokens with maple, aspen, oak, pear, and fern leaves on them.

Each game also comes with custom dice, a discard box, a draw bag, an English rulebook with Spanish, German, Dutch, and French versions available for download, and everything else users need to play all versions of the game.

The Boyle Special: Collector’s Edition poster

MUNICH, GERMANY, June 1, 2020 / — Mention Maserati racing cars and thoughts turn to the 250F with which Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1957 Formula 1 World Championship, or countless beautiful sports racing cars.

But one of the Italian marque’s least known and most successful race cars was the 8CTF, a stunning single-seater built for Grand Prix racing in 1938, which enjoyed its greatest successes once it had crossed the Atlantic, changed its name to the Boyle Special and won the Indianapolis 500 Mile race, not just once, but twice in 1939 and 1940. The Boyle Special, named after team owner Michael Boyle is officially the most successful car ever to have raced at the “Brickyard” with those two wins, plus two third place finishes and a fourth. It has been lovingly restored and is on display in the Indianapolis Hall of Fame Museum and is now immortalised in a beautiful Automobilist poster, created in collaboration with Maserati, available in limited edition to commemorate the grand win on May 30, 1940 at Indy 500 – a win that ensured this beauty would go down in history. This is also the first commemorative poster in a series of collaborative efforts between Maserati and Automobilist, which will capture the glorious history and heritage of the Italian manufacturer, leading up to sneak-peaks into their cars of the future, all captured in high-quality creative prints that bring moments to life.

The 8CTF featured on the post had an amazing career, and became one of the longest and most glorious of any single-seater racer, and continued till 1950. One of the three cars built, chassis number 3032 in which Wilbur Shaw triumphed at both the 1939 and 1940 Indianapolis 500, continues to be on display at the Indianapolis Speedway Museum. At Automobilist, Every last detail of the car, including the wear and tear it has endured through the race, the fittings on the steering, and the exact shade of metallic colour have been recreated using images from that period.
