The 180-lot auction is packed with 20th century American art, 19th century European art, Hudson River School painting and Modernism and Contemporary art.

MILFORD, CT, UNITED STATES, October 20, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Shannon’s has collected an exceptional group of 180 artworks to be offered in their Fall Fine Art Auction on Thursday, October 28th, beginning promptly at 6 pm Eastern time. There are spectacular offerings in every category, particularly 20th century American art, 19th century European art, Hudson River School painting, Modernism and Contemporary art.
Headlining the auction are two works by celebrated the British Modernist, Henry Moore. Moore, best known as a sculptor, was a skilled draughtsman often working out concepts for his sculptures on paper. Shannon’s will offer both a bronze, Mother and Child on Ladderback Rocking Chair (estimated at $400,000-$600,000) and a colored, mixed-media work on paper, titled Rocking Chairs (estimate $100,000-$200,000) related to the series of mother and child sculptures on rocking bases.
The bronze, from an edition of 9, was intended to rock back and forth, adding charm and playfulness to the warm subject matter. It was purchased directly from Moore’s New York City dealer in 1952. The drawing, created in 1948, illustrates Moore’s various approaches to the mother and child theme. Although the work is a study on paper, Moore clearly conceived of his works as volumetric sculptures, drawing shadows and motion into his designs.
A large, 80 inch by 150 inch painting by the Chilean artist Roberto Matta carries a pre-sale estimate of $150,000-$250,000. The untitled painting presents an alternative, futuristic, dreamlike universe with hypersexualized, androgynous humanoid figures typical of his paintings from mid-century. Other highlights in Modern and Contemporary include a monochromatic abstract painting by Russian artist Serge Poliakoff, a bright, expressive watercolor by Paul Jenkins and two works from the estate of Gerome Kamrowski.
Two superb works on paper by Charles Burchfield lead the offerings of 20th century American art. January Sun, measuring an impressive 40 inches by 34 inches, depicts a view in Buffalo outside the artist’s home and studio. Burchfield started the composition in 1947 and finished it in 1957. Estimated at $150,000-$250,000 this market-fresh watercolor has been in a private collection for nearly 50 years and is in excellent original condition. From the same collection, another Burchfield, titled Lincoln Avenue at Salem, Main Street, is expected to bring $70,000-$90,000. Dated 1916, the work illustrates a scene from Burchfield’s native Ohio during an early period in his career. Loosely associated with the Regionalist artists, Burchfield found inspiration in his immediate surroundings.
From the same collection a rare Thomas Hart Benton oil study, Study for Sugar Cane, will be offered with an expected selling price of $200,000-$300,000. The oil sketch reads much larger than its size, and is almost identical to the larger, finished composition now in the collection of the Thomas Hart Benton Trust.
Other highlights in American art include a snowy view of the financial district by Guy C. Wiggins (estimate $100,000-$150,000); a Luminist vista of the Susquehanna River by John F. Cropsey (estimate $80,000-$120,000); a large view of Niagara Falls by Hermann Herzog (estimate $40,000-$60,000); a portrait of a woman by Charles Courtney Curran (estimate $40,000-$60,000); a large forest interior by Worthington Whittredge (estimate $40,000-$60,000); a masterpiece-quality work by Felicie Waldo Howell (estimate $30,000-$50,000); and a portfolio of 96 watercolors by Fidelia Bridges (estimate $30,000-$50,000).
European paintings include a portrait of the opera character Musette from Puccini’s La Boheme by Italian Academic artist Eugene von Blaas, estimated at $100,000-$150,000; and a portrait of a wealthy Viennese banker by Isidor Kaufmann, estimated at $100,000-$150,000.

Frankfurt Book Fair – “Family Business” by J. J. Fauser is the most innovative Thriller Book 2021

Book cover of the thriller "Family Business" by thriller author J. J. Fauser which is recognized s the most innovative thriller 2021

“Family Business” by J. J. Fauser is recognized as the most innovative thriller 2021

“Family Business”, the first thriller written by aspiring author J. J. Fauser is already recognized as the most innovative thriller 2021.

A grounded narrative of modern espionage… …featuring a variety of fresh locations, realistic combat sequences, and a complex and unrelenting plot.”

— Kashif Hussain (BestThrillerBooks.com)

FRANKFURT, HESSE, GERMANY, October 20, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — At the Book Fair 2021 in Frankfurt everybody is talking about an artificial intelligence called “AIDA”, who is involved in a series of international incidents connected to espionage. In the meantime, it became clear that “AIDA” is a character in the new thriller “Family Business” by James Jack Fauser. His first book is already recognized as the most innovative thriller book 2021.

A week before the Frankfurter Buchmesse started, journalists had received mysterious email messages from “AIDA” asking them for help. In her messages “AIDA” stated to be run by the secret agency EUSAOCT, the “European Secret Agency for Organized Crime and Terrorism“, based in Brussels.

The mysterious sender claiming to be an AI system, seemed to be involved in a series of international incidents. There were several deadly shootings, a number of dead bodies, a crashed yacht and a kidnapping at locations like Athens, Munich, Zurich, Palermo and Oslo, as well as Washington DC.

The AI “AIDA” seemed to be the victim of a vicious hacker attack. Two operators of EUSAOCT, special agent J. J. Fauser and special agent Greta Lugaart, who both were obviously missing, seemed to be in the center of the whole string of events.
The CIA, the Sicilian mafia and other organized crime outfits, like an American right wing paramilitary group were involved as well. There would even exist links leading back to the White House.

At the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2021 the press and members of the book publishing community are discussing the new thriller “Family Business” by author James Jack Fauser (J. J. Fauser) as the most innovative thriller 2021.

The famous American reviewer Kashif Hussain (BestThrillerBooks.com) states:
"A grounded narrative of modern espionage by secretive non-state entities that officially do not exist but operate within the shadows, featuring a variety of fresh locations, realistic combat sequences, and a complex and unrelenting plot."

As exceptionally innovative counts that “AIDA” is not only a character in the book or ebook, but can be experienced in reality and readers can communicate with her anytime via her chat bot.
A special Spotify playlist the author J. J. Fauser integrated into the book, so you can listen to the music titles while reading a certain chapter, is pretty innovative as well.

The largest online cash prize speed typing competition website on the Internet bsbltyping.com is determined to stamp out cheating in their competitions.

We have an obligation to run open and very honest competitions and typing tests and we take this responsibility very seriously.”

— Tony Rust – Managing Direct Better Skills, Better Life Ltd

BLACKPOOL, LANCASHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM, October 20, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — November 2021 sees www.bsbltyping .com hosting their first Weekly Champions £100 Fastest Typist Big Match and, in January 2022, their first Weekly Famers £200 Fastest Typist Competition. With cash prizes for speed typing totalling over £1,000 in those two months there is a temptation for cheats to move in with software tools to cheat and take the prizes from legitimate fast typists.

Background
Keyur Bhadada, bsbltyping.com’s Chief Development Officer, says ‘We had been largely successful in spotting and deleting abnormally high scoring entries which looked false, but we recently had a case where one person had built up a credible history as a competitor in the cash prize competitions and who then started to win, with ever increasing high scores. We didn’t detect this for some weeks, our bsbltyping.com staff were particularly busy with new development work, and it was only when that competitor achieved yet another high score in our Weekly £10 Prize Fastest Typist Competition that the pattern of scoring came to our attention. This was at the same time that we received a note from another competitor, an expert fast typist who is one of our Weekly Cash Prize Hall of Famers, pointing out the suspicious nature of a winning entry.’

Tony Rust, Managing Director of Better Skills, Better Life Limited, the company behind www.bsbltyping.com takes up the story, “We have an obligation to run open and very honest competitions and typing tests and we take this responsibility very seriously. When we became aware of this we thoroughly inspected the keystroke data in the relevant entries and we repeatedly tried to contact the competitor in question for their comments. In the absence of any reply from the competitor and from what we saw and learned from the keystroke data pattern, we felt that the keystokes had been made by means other than manual typing. Accordingly, in accordance with fairness and the competition rules, the competitor was been disqualified and on top of that is now barred from taking part in our competitions and using our typing tests and other products.’

The Solution
Keyur Bhadada’s closing remarks on this matter are, ‘We spent four weeks of development time in adjusting the scoreboards and nameboards and in developing transparent means for a competitor, and anyone else, to inspect the keystroke data for any entry on any scoreboard or nameboard simply by clicking on the recorded WPM score. As a further safeguard, the competition rules and the Typing Test user protocols now include the proviso that if any competitor or user achieves a high or abnormal score that wins a competition prize, or which achieves a high placing on the Typing Test scoreboards, then in order to validate that score the typist agrees to have a screen sharing online video conference call with us to demonstrate their general level of skill. With that, and the keystroke data, we can arrive at a conclusion as to the validity or otherwise of the score’

Euro Note Souvenir pays tribute to IRA revolutionary Bobby Sands

This is the Bobby Sands commemorative 0 Euro banknote from Euro Note Souvenir Ltd

Bobby Sands commemorative 0 Euro banknote

This is the actual Bobby Sands photo used to make the 0 Euro banknote

Original Bobby Sands photo

"Tiocfaidh ár lá" immortalized on limited-edition 0 Euro banknote

Bobby Sands’ stand led to people around the world seeing him as a martyr for his cause, and marveling at his tenacity”

— Peter Schneider

HEADFORD, CO. GALWAY, IRELAND, October 20, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — The day has come for Bobby Sands to be memorialized on a 0 Euro banknote.

The controversial and symbolic IRA revolutionary who managed to get himself elected to the British parliament from prison while in the middle of a high publicity hunger strike (which led to his death at the age of 27) will be immortalized by Euro Note Souvenir in a limited-edition zero Euro note.

Sands is a beloved figure in Ireland for his commitment and his passion. Sands suffered from intimidation and violence as an Irish Catholic growing up in the protestant sector of North Ireland in the ‘60s, and joined the IRA after being held at gunpoint and told that Catholics were not welcome at his workplace. His participation in the conflict ultimately led to his arrest on weapons charges. Sands argued that his fellow incarcerated IRA members were political prisoners and started the hunger strike to encourage better treatment and get international publicity.

Though the strike was successful and drew international attention, Sands’ election to Parliament in the midst of the strike sent shock waves through the government. Sands never got to serve in Parliament; he died from starvation shortly after winning the election. Following his death, Parliament quickly passed a law preventing prisoners from running for political office. His death sparked an international outcry and memorials from across the globe, and put increasing political pressure on the British government to come to a resolution that would end the sectarian violence in Ireland.

“Bobby Sands’ stand led to people around the world seeing him as a martyr for his cause, and marveling at his tenacity,” said Peter Schneider, Founder of Euro Note Souvenir Ltd. “Agree or disagree with him, there was no doubting the depth of his commitment to a free Ireland, and that’s what we honor with this commemorative Euro note.”

These zero Euro notes will be printed in the same facility that presses Euro banknotes for the E.U. at the behest of Euro Note Souvenir. Euro Note Souvenir is the exclusive license-holder of zero Euro notes in Ireland, which gives the company the ability to create commemorative Euro notes with the look and feel of real Euro currency. The company has previously honored other iconic Irish mainstays, including the city of Dublin, revolutionary Irish politician Michael Collins, Kilkenny Castle, and the Cliffs of Moher.

The Bobby Sands Zero Euro Note features a portrait of a smiling Sands on the front, surrounded by a ring of stars. Underneath are his birth and death years and his full name, and above him is the iconic phrase "Tiocfaidh ár lá," or “our day will come.”

“Tiocfaidh ár lá was Sands’ motto, and we felt it was an appropriate one to include on the note,” says Schneider. “Sands was controversial in his day, but 40 years after his death, his vision of an end to the violence between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland is here. And that, we can all celebrate.”

Just 5,000 of these limited edition notes will be printed. Peter Schneider is available for inquiries regarding the Bobby Sands commemorative Euro note and the process of making commemorative zero Euro notes. To get in touch, contact Euro Note Souvenir at info@euronotesouvenir.com.

Venustas, the innovative heated apparel brand, introduces a brand new white duck down heated vest with graphene heating elements.

SHENZHEN, CHINA, October 20, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Venustas, the innovative heated apparel brand, introduces a brand new white duck down heated vest with graphene heating elements. This heated vest with detachable hood is available in men's and women's styles. By this, Venustas will make a significant difference in the heated clothing industry with higher thermal efficiency, fewer wasted electricity, and better sustainability.

What Is Heated Clothing?
Regular thick coats keep people warm simply by trapping body heat, so adding layers is the only method when someone wants to get warmer. However, with heated apparel, things will become different.

Self-heating clothing is designed for cold-weather sports and activities, such as skiing, winter cycling, climbing, camping, and for outdoor workers such as construction workers and hunters. It's thin, lightweight, yet insulated and can provide additional warmth. Now it's widely adopted in many circumstances. For example, athletes will use it to keep the muscle warm while flexibility is needed.

So when it comes to heating clothing, the material of heating panels matters a lot. Most heated vests on the markets adopt carbon fiber as the heating element. But Venustas now is doing better- Graphene will be the new material innovatively used in the upcoming products this season, including the heated down vests.

Why Use Graphene?
Graphene is stronger than diamond and is the thinnest, strongest, and most flexible known material. With a remarkable ability to conduct heat and electricity, it has already been adopted in many industries. But why use graphene for self-heating clothing? The answer is pretty simple:
-Instant heat: heat up evenly in a short time
-Excellent heating performance: soft warmth that won't make users' skin dry
-Higher efficiency: electrons travel faster than when they're in the carbon fiber

This marvelous heating material allows a longer working time of the heated vests while using the same battery packs, which leads Venustas heated down vests to reach a higher level. The graphene panels contribute to less preheat time and a more stable heat supply. Like Venustas' other heated clothing, the graphene heated vests for men and women are equipped with UL-certified batteries that can provide up to 9 hours of continuous power.

Premium Down
This heated vest for men/women is filled with 90% light and soft white duck down to form an air insulation layer, providing excellent heat insulation and breathability for the outdoorsy person.

Upgraded 7.4V Battery Pack
Venustas 7.4v battery pack is now in a new version. It comes with a 5000mAh design, which enables 3-4hrs on high, 4-5hrs on medium, 8-10hrs on the low heating setting. The charging core is upgraded to fit better with the graphene heating elements, thus improving the efficiency. With a faster-charging speed and a smaller size, this battery pack is portable and always ready to go.

Venustas heated down vests are now available in classic black.

Venustas continues to make affordable heated apparel with high quality in mind. It delivers warmth, comfort, and ease when people enjoy the outdoor games or work hard outside. No matter for what reason, Venustas is the best choice to resist the cold.

About Venustas
As technology changes the way people live, everyone is more concerned with wellbeing, especially during the long and cold winter. Founded in 2018, Venustas is a young and lively brand specializing in cold-weather gear, including heated jackets, vests, gloves, coats, sweaters, hoodies and blanket hoodies. Venustas is committed to helping people adventure outdoors in winter with comfort. For more information, visit venustasofficial.com.

— Ben Nejat

EAST MEADOW, NY, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — A Major Important Estate Auction packed with around 700 lots of original paintings by listed artists, French Art Nouveau glass, silver, porcelain dinner services and Chinese and Japanese antiques is scheduled for Sunday, November 7th, by World Auction Gallery, starting at 10 am Eastern time. Previews will be held November 4th-6th, from 10am-4pm.

The auction will be held online and live in the World Auction Gallery showroom, located at 228 East Meadow Avenue in East Meadow, a hamlet in the town of Hempstead on Long Island, about 30 miles outside of Manhattan. The in-person auction, however, will be limited to ten people and must be booked at least a day in advance. To book a reservation, call 516-307-8180.

“This promises to be one of our best auctions ever and includes items from various New York City, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut estates,” said Ben Nejat, the owner of World Auction Gallery. “People can bid online through LiveAuctioneers.com, Invaluable.com or our website, www.worldauctiongallery.com. Telephone and absentee bids will also be accepted.”

The French Art Nouveau glass will feature names such as Galle, Daum Nancy, A. Walter Nancy, Argy Rousseau, Tiffany, Lalique, Loetz, Muller and other fine makers, including miniatures. Several important collections will come up for bid, to include antique continental and American bronze sculptures; Russian glass and enameled silver items; fine silver; and fine Asian antiques.

The original artwork category will be highlighted by an exceptional and very large painting of Napoleon at the End of the Battle of Waterloo by Lemmo Rossi Scotti (Italian, 1848-1926). Scotti is best known for painting battle scenes in a late-Romantic style. His grandiose military depictions garnered him commissions from the Royal family, which gave him the title of Count.

Another monumental painting is by a follower of Guido Reni (Italian, 1575-1642), an artist of the Baroque period, although his works displayed a classical manner. The painting up for bid reflects his influence and style. Reni painted primarily religious works, but also mythological and allegorical subjects. He was famous as the predominant figure in the Bolognese School.

There are two large bronze sculptures in the auction, one by the Russian-born French artist and designer known as Erté (real name, Romain de Tirtoff, 1892-1990). He was a 20th-century artist and designer in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume design and set design for film, theater and opera, and interior décor. Works by Erté are highly collectible.

The other is by the American sculptor Dennis Smith (b. 1942). Smith is a Latter-day Saint and some of his artwork deals with LDS themes. He is known in LDS circles for creating most of the statues that form the Monument to Women Memorial Garden in Nauvoo, Ill. While on an LDS mission to Denmark in the 1960s, he was accepted into the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

Dinner and coffee services will include a rare and beautiful Herend Hungary porcelain coffee set; an extensive, 75-piece Royal Copenhagen porcelain dinner set; an even more extensive, 85-piece Royal Copenhagen porcelain dinner set in the Henriette pattern; and a 97-piece Royal Crown Derby Old Imari porcelain dinner service. Other fine services will also come under the gavel.

Asian objects include a large, 25-inch-tall Japanese Ginbari enameled vase, made by Ando. Ginbari is a Japanese technique that uses silver foil in relief under the enamel. Cloisons are attached to the sheet and filled with colored glaze. Ando is a company located in Sakae, Nagoya, in central Japan. It’s is one of the very few traditional cloisonné companies still left in Japan.

Porcelain and glass treats will be offered in abundance and include a large and exceptional Art Nouveau Royal Vienna porcelain rotating covered urn; a large and lovely Livio Seguso Murano Italian glass sculpture; and a large and beautiful Galle internally decorated cameo glass lamp. Pitch-Changer for Djembes is a Game-Changer for Drums

The Djambla pitch changer for drums hits funding goal on Kickstarter on its mission to change the way drums are played.

I used it on a djembe and was able to pedal a wide array of articulations, tunings, and dynamics! The Djambla will transform your percussion to handle a more diverse variety of musical situations.”

— TRAZ DAMJI – awarded platinum album for work on Linkin Park’s Reanimation

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, October 19, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Djambla – A Whammy Bar for Drums hit its funding goal on Kickstarter as a #ProjectWeLove. With 3 weeks to go, inventor Hannu Rauma and his 5 sons want to get the message out to drummers of all kinds, but djembe enthusiasts in particular, that drums are hiding a treasure of sound and music that has gone untapped for centuries.

Did you know this about drums?

When you place something inside your drum, something large enough to change the volume of air inside the drum but not so large as to block the air coming out of it, the pitch lowers dramatically. Try it for yourself. If you have a djembe lying around, put it on your lap and play it with one hand while placing the other inside and listen to how the pitch changes. It’s amazing!

This is exactly how Rauma discovered the trick of acoustic physics that makes dynamic pitch changing a reality. It took 18 months and 14 prototypes to come up with the Djambla. The name is a mashup of djembe and tabla, because the Djambla can make your djembe sound like a flipping tabla! Or a talking drum, or tympani. Maybe you’ve never thought about playing a drum with a whammy bar before but why not?

Ok, the Djambla doesn’t have an actual whammy bar because one needs both hands while playing the drums, but it does have a foot pedal. The pedal drives a piston that inserts into your drum in seconds, and one inch of pedal/piston travel equals one semitone or whole note. The pedal moves a total of 5 inches to produce 5 whole notes! Keep in mind that this is done au naturel, pure acoustics, and not with electronics of any kind. No wires or plugs.

Rauma and family believe the Djambla is a game-changer for drums. With a patent application pending internationally, Rauma and his 5 sons are ready to take it to market. The technology covers applications for the entire spectrum of drums, but they’re starting small and putting their focus on popular hand drums such as djembes, doumbeks, and darbukas.

The team already has the 2nd generation Djambla in the works with multi-drum setups that span complete octaves, like a marimba but played with only 3 drums. For now, the goal is to attract enough attention to their Kickstarter campaign in the hopes to reach enough disruptor/innovator drummers that are willing to join the polyphonic drum movement and show the world what drummers can do with more notes.

Irfan Virji Discusses the Benefits of Scuba Diving for Physical and Mental Health

There are many different reasons to get into scuba diving, says Irfan Virji

Irfan Virji Discussed the Benefits of Scuba Diving for Physical and Mental Health

MOMBASA, KENYA, October 19, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — There are many different reasons to get into scuba diving, says Irfan Virji. Whether you want to explore sunken cities, meet exotic aquatic life, or just love the freedom of moving underwater, scuba diving is an exciting and unique hobby. But aside from the underwater exploration, scuba diving also offers a wide range of benefits for both your physical and mental health. Read on to learn more about how scuba diving can improve your life!

Scuba Diving Is Great Aerobic Exercise Says Irfan Virji
While gliding around underwater may look effortless, it’s actually quite the workout says Irfan Virji. Swimming of any kind is one of the best forms of aerobic exercise because the water provides constant resistance without putting pressure on your joints. As you maneuver through the water, the resistance ensures that you are engaging all of your major muscle groups at once to stay afloat and steer yourself.

Regular aerobic exercise has many benefits, including lower blood pressure, increased lung capacity and cardiovascular health, and deeper, more regular sleep. As with all forms of cardio, scuba diving also burns calories, helping you maintain a healthy weight.

Scuba Diving Can Reduce Stress
There are also benefits for your mental health when you scuba dive–specifically stress reduction. Stress can cause negative health effects like nausea, headaches, trouble sleeping, and weight gain. These all contribute to the mental repercussions of stress–anxiety and depression.

As with all forms of exercise, the release of endorphins and feel-good chemicals from scuba diving can combat stress hormones like cortisol. This reduces the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression.

But scuba diving has another secret weapon for combatting stress–breath control. When you learn how to scuba dive, you learn a series of breathing techniques meant to ensure that you’re properly oxygenated and to help keep you from panicking in an unfamiliar environment. This involves taking slow, deep breaths meant to optimize air consumption, explains Irfan Virji

These breathing techniques are very similar to the ones used in meditation and yoga practices. They are known to reduce your heart rate, calm your nervous system, and promote a sense of well-being. This, combined with the peace and quiet of being underwater, often gives divers the feeling of an almost meditative state while they dive.

Scuba Diving Gives You a Community
Just like any hobby, the people who love scuba diving tend to find one another and flock together. You’ll meet people in classes as you become scuba certified and in popular dive spots as you start to explore on your own.

This is a great way to meet new friends, broaden your social circle, and improve your social life, says Irfan Virji. And because humans are social creatures, being part of a close-knit community benefits both your physical and mental health.
