Frank Sinatra's fingerprint card from a 1938 arrest and a rare studio tape of Jimi Hendrix will be auctioned April 19th

Studio multi-track master two-inch tape with eight different songs and segments, recorded by Jimi Hendrix.

Framed group of individual signatures of all four Beatles, displayed beneath a photo of the Fab Four.

Bootleg Bruce Springsteen LP titled Jersey Devil, signed by Springsteen, Weinberg and Federici.

1978 Polish Star Wars one-sheet movie poster, unrestored.

They're expected star lots in Weiss Auctions’ next big sale, on Thursday, April 19th, at 10 am Eastern time, online and at the firm's gallery in Lynbrook, N.Y.

LYNBROOK, N.Y., UNITED STATES, March 22, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — LYNBROOK, N.Y. – Frank Sinatra’s original signed fingerprint card from his arrest in New Jersey in 1938, pre-fame, on a morals charge, and a studio multi-track master two-inch tape with eight different songs and segments recorded by Jimi Hendrix not long before his death, are star lots in Weiss Auctions’ next big sale, planned for Thursday, April 19th, at 10 am Eastern time.

The auction will be held online and in Weiss Auctions’ gallery at 74 Merrick Road in Lynbrook. Internet bidding will be provided by LiveAuctioneers.com and Proxibid.com. The sale is packed with hundreds of lots of rock ‘n’ roll, historical items, militaria and Part 3 of the Jerry Winevsky collection of New York City and Coney Island postcards, books, photographs and ephemera.

In November 1938, a then-23-year-old Frank Sinatra was twice arrested in Bergen County, N.J., and charged with seduction (yes, that was a thing back then) and adultery. According to a police report, Sinatra “under the promise of marriage” had sex with a woman who initially claimed Ol’ Blue Eyes had deflowered her. Charges were dropped when it came out the woman was married.

Sinatra’s signed finger print card from that seduction arrest is the item being auctioned, and it’s considered a rare and valuable piece of memorabilia because it pre-dates his rise to stardom as an international singing sensation, charter member of the Rat Pack and the Chairman of the Board. Sinatra collectibles typically date back to when he was “Bones” at the Paramount and forward.

The multi-track master two-inch studio tape is the ultimate collectible for fans of Jimi Hendrix, arguably the greatest rock guitarist who ever lived. On the tape are eight songs (or segments), plus a short unidentified piano composition, recorded in the waning days of the star’s life, which ended at age 27 in 1970. Hendrix has been an inspiration for generations of guitarists ever since.

The lot consists of the studio tape, featuring six songs off the Cry of Love album (Freedom, Ezy Ryder, Night Bird Flying, Straight Ahead, Astro Man and In From the Storm); one song from the War Heroes album (Stepping Stone); an instrumental keyboard track lasting a few minutes; 24-bit .wav files, digitally transferred to two data DVDs, so the taped material can be used in a digital work station; and in-depth analyses of each song, all in a handsome presentation box.

The rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia also includes a 1969 Jimi Hendrix Northern California Folk Rock Festival concert poster; a 1969 Janis Joplin concert poster, a framed group of signatures from all four Beatles, displayed below an early photo of the Fab Four; a bootleg Bruce Springsteen LP titled Jersey Devil, signed by Springsteen, Weinberg and Federici; and original back stage passes from all genres, concerts and crew shirts, posters, handbills and other rare and sought after items.

Other posters will feature a 1935 Little Black Sambo one-sheet poster, with restoration; an 1897 French Exposition de Poupees (Doll Exhibition) poster; a 1983 Italian propaganda poster, one seeking volunteer technicians; a circa 1910 French Gustave Rouquier jewelry advertising poster, by Charles Railpod; and a scarce circa 1935 Wrigley’s Chewing Gum poster, by Otis Shepard.

The poster category continues with a 1978 Polish Star Wars one-sheet movie poster, unrestored; a 1932 Europe and Brazil Graf zeppelin travel poster, HAPAG, by Paul Theodore Etbauer; and a Veedol Motor Oil poster from around 1936 showing the Graf and Hindenburg zeppelins. Also up for bid will be World Wars I and II posters, advertising posters, foreign posters and other posters.

NASA offerings will include nicely framed lots, to include one for the Apollo 15 moon mission, with an image of the moon surrounded by autographs of various astronauts; one for the Mercury 7 mission, with a photo of the crew, an autographed news release and a signed check; and an Apollo 11 lot, with the crew and signatures of Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins.

A collection of rare and adorable cast iron doorstops will include a Hubley Bathing Beauties doorstop, signed “Fish”; a Hubley Charleston Dancers doorstop, also signed “Fish”; and more. Militaria will feature Civil War and other items. Photographic images will include tintypes, ambrotypes and daguerreotypes. Rounding out the sale will be rare books and paper ephemera.

Gold & Gems Fine Jewelry Announces the Implementation of New Technology to Create Custom Engagement Rings Online

Oregon jeweler deploys high-tech application in creating unique jewelry e-ring designs with customer collaboration.

People love to be involved with the creative process, and I really enjoy engaging the vision of each customer. If I can exceed their expectations, I've done my job.”

— Ron Hansen

ASHLAND, OR, UNITED STATES, March 22, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Ron Hansen, Vice President of Operations for Gold & Gems Fine Jewelry, announced today a new method of creating custom jewelry with customers using latest computer aided technology.

In business for over 35 years, Gold & Gems Fine Jewelry has always been on the cutting edge of serving its customers. In recent times, the company has evolved its custom jewelry department to new levels by engaging customers online and bringing to life the creation of jewelry designs which its customers, not Gold & Gems, have largely created.

Departing from the old paradigm of creating designs with universal appeal for a broad base market with the hope of customer adoption, the company has turned that model on its head. Recognizing that the creation of jewelry designs is truly an art form, which can be a profound mode of self-expression, the company is enabling its customers to co-create, along with them, the jewelry pieces of their dreams.

The process works as follows. The customer submits a design concept in visual form and with written directions to Gold & Gems. The concept is discussed at length with the customer to verify the details and, in many cases, provide recommendations and embellishments to the original design. Once there is a meeting of the minds, the craftsmanship begins and the prototype is created.

Then, and this is the key, using an exclusive computer application, the prototype is shared with the customer on the web in real time with 360 degree HD video imagery, rendering a highly detailed view of the prototype from every angle. Collaborating online with the customer and obtaining customer input on the final details of the custom jewelry piece are the last steps of the process, and then the finished product is crafted. Because this creative process is online, customers can be served anywhere in the world.

According to Mr. Hansen, "People love to be involved with the creative process. I really enjoy engaging the vision of each customer. The engagement ring is arguably the most important material item for people. I am truly honored to help customers create the ring of their dreams. If I can exceed their expectations, I've done my job."

Some Tips on PUBG's Miramar Map

PUBG skin trading

: A few tips to survive in the Miramar map of PUBG. Take advantage of buildings, heights, and cover. Also, alternative landing places.

PASIG CITY, PHILIPPINES, March 22, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Being in a desert environment that is different from Erangel, there are sure to be different strategies for the Miramar map. Some things can stay the same too, such as staying away from the towns (where other players will likely flock to). So here are some tips to survive in this harsh desert.

Buildings are Your Friends

Yes, there are towns on the map, but there are smaller clusters of buildings scattered about the map. Aim for those little clumps of buildings, because they are often overlooked, and yet you'll still get good PUBG items from them. Just remember to close doors and keep low on windows to prevent others from ambushing you.

Another benefit of these buildings is cover. Since the desert isn't friendly with foliage cover, you're always exposed and always in danger of getting sniped in the head. Inside buildings, however, snipers have less chance of seeing you.

Heights are Your Friends, Too

A good vantage point is especially useful for snipers, but if you're not equipped, it's still an excellent place to survey an area. You can check for vehicles, other players, or possible loot locations. Just make sure you watch your back.

Use Whatever Cover You Can

Deserts are very sandy and not much else. Hence, when you find cover, use it, whatever it is. It could be a haystack, a broken off wall, or rusted unusable vehicles. Duck into and lean from behind cover, use any advantage they give.

Climb, Climb, Climb

With the new vaulting ability that got released along with this map, it's easier to climb up buildings to get a good vantage point. In addition to that, most of the hills on this map can be climbed, even if they don't look like it. A word of advice, make sure nobody's around to watch (and shoot you) as you climb.

Other Tips

Sure, the big towns are also great to land in, but everybody else will flock to them as well. If you want to avoid other players, you're better off in other areas. Speaking of which, near the northwestern corner is the Ruins. It's a little out of the way and very risky to go to the Ruins. However, the equipment you'll get from there should be worth it. Lastly, be careful of unusable vehicles, so you don't waste time checking and trying to use them.

Enjoy PUBG!

Glenn Almack pledges support for Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

Glenn Almack 1

Glenn Almack 1

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund serves US military personnel suffering the effects of traumatic brain injury and psychological health issues.

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, March 21, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — "Supporting these heroes helps to repay the debt which all Americans owe them for the sacrifices they have made," says the New York-based fund of its cause.

It's a sentiment echoed by Texas businessman and philanthropist Glenn Almack.

"The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is an amazing organization which is achieving great treatment results for our injured military, suffering from traumatic brain injuries and psychological health issues," says Almack of the fund.

Founded by the late Zachary Fisher, a fellow philanthropist, and businessman, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund exists, in its own words, "…to serve United States military personnel wounded or injured in service to our nation, and their families."

Almack goes on to say of his support for the fund, "The men and women of the US military put themselves in harm's way, to protect and serve our country. Unfortunately, many are suffering the effects of traumatic brain injury and psychological health issues, as a result of their service."

"These injuries," he continues, "are mostly as a result of their service in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Glenn Almack further adds, "The fund is meeting their treatment needs, by building a series of nine specially-designed medical care facilities, called 'Intrepid Spirit' centers, at military bases around the nation."

According to Almack, five are already open and serving, with four more under construction or subject to planning.

"They've achieved an incredible success rate of returning more than 90% of patients to regular service in the armed forces," adds Almack.

100% of donations to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go directly to their programs. The fund's board of directors underwrites all administrative costs, meaning no portion of contributions is deducted.

This was another deciding factor in Almack's support for the fund.

"I became aware of this organization from an employee of one of the major corporations which support the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund," he remarks. "When I researched, the statistic that made me realize this was the right organization to support was that 100% of donations go directly to the organization's programs."

He continues, "There are other organizations which provide services and support to our injured veterans, but many have high administrative costs associated with them and are not treatment focused."

"I have the highest respect," Almack further remarks, "for the men and women that serve in the military forces of the US. I think it's our civic duty to help them, by providing the specialized medical treatment facilities required for those individuals who are injured as a result of their service to our country."

Of the fund's success in returning over 90% of patients to regular service, Almack concludes, "I think the success of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund's treatment speaks well for its efficacy."

Glenn Almack is also a patron of a number of other charities and organizations, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Leukemia Research Foundation, as well as the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas and the Dallas branch of the International Dyslexia Association.

Three artworks attributed to Andy Warhol sell for a combined $50,400 at Woodshed Art Auctions' March 15 online art sale

Gouache, watercolor and ink on paper of the Absolut Vodka bottle, attributed to Andy Warhol ($12,000).

Illustrations of Tintin by Georges Remi Herge, original ink drawings with pencil indications ($21,875).

What is thought to be an early, unfinished study of the iconic work The Scream by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch ($13,200).

Oil on canvas painting attributed to the late Pop Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, titled Portrait of a Man ($12,000).

The three stylized renditions, of the products Chanel No. 5 and Absolut Vodka, plus one of Elvis Presley as a gun-toting cowboy, combined for just over $50,000.

Several artists who were new to our catalogs made impressive results. These included the illustrators Herge and Andre Franquin.”

— Bruce Wood

FRANKLIN, MASS., UNITED STATES, March 21, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — FRANKLIN, Mass. – Three artworks attributed to Pop Art icon Andy Warhol (Am., 1928-1987) – stylized renditions of the products Chanel No. 5 and Absolut Vodka, plus one of Elvis Presley as a gun-toting cowboy – combined for a little more than $50,000 in an online fine art auction titled Private Art Collections & Estate Discoveries held March 15th by Woodshed Art Auctions.

Chanel No. 5 was the top earner in the 163-lot sale, selling for $32,400 (with buyer’s premium). The gouache, watercolor and ink on paper work was signed lower center and verso. It was also marked with the stamp “Contemporary Masters Exhibition” and reference numbers. The framed piece was possibly a study for Warhol’s series dedicate to logos, advertisements and trademarks.

The rendering of the Absolut Vodka bottle, also a signed and framed gouache on paper, may have also been a study, for Warhol’s commission in 1985 for what became one of the most successful ad campaigns of the 20th century. It made $12,000. The Elvis image – a mixed media drawing on white paper, unframed – was felt pen-signed on the image and in pencil verso. It realized $6,000.

The auction was packed with artworks from consignors in Europe, England, South America and the US, including original paintings and drawings by and attributed to noted artists from the 19th and 20th century, in styles that included Realism, Impressionism, Surrealism, Neo-Expressionism and Pop, a diverse mix of holdings from estates and fresh works from international art collectors.

“Several artists who were new to our catalogs made impressive results,” said Bruce Wood of Woodshed Art Auctions. “These included the illustrators Herge and Andre Franquin. Our consignors are excited and will be sending more illustrations for the next sale, on April 26th.”

The second top lot of the auction was Illustrations of Tintin by Georges Remi Herge (Fr., 1907-1983), original ink drawings with pencil indications and white-out corrections on paper from the famous children’s book series ($21,875). The ink and watercolor on paper from Andre Franquin, the Belgian comic artist (1924-1997), of the character Gaston, artist signed, gaveled for $2,400.

Following are additional highlights from the auction. Bidding was facilitated via the bidding platform LiveAuctioneers.com. People could also register and bid on the Woodshed website, www.woodshedartauctions (a new feature). All prices quoted include the buyer’s premium.

Jean-Michel Basquiat (Am., 1960-1988), like his friend and contemporary Andy Warhol, was also represented multiple times in the auction. An oil on canvas attributed to Basquiat, titled Portrait of a Man (1981), artist signed and housed in a recent frame, brought $12,000. The 16 inch by 10 ½ inch painting, done in the artist’s inimitable style, came out of a collection in Spain.

A pair of crayon on pulp board drawings attributed to Basquiat, signed on the reverse with the artist’s initials and trademark crown, sold as individual lots. Each one fetched $1,200. Both were small, just 5 ¾ inches by 4 inches, and were consigned by a collector in Illinois, who reported the drawings had been purchased by the previous owner on Bleeker Street in Manhattan, circa 1980.

What is thought to be an early unfinished study for The Scream, one of the world’s most famous works of art, by the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch (1863-1944), hammered for $13,200. The work, an attribution, was signed and dated 1892. As the story goes, Munch created his haunting, symbolic painting The Scream after hearing an ear-piercing scream while on a walk with friends.

Pen and ink drawings on both sides of a single sketchbook page, done in the manner of the Dutch Master Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890), one titled Tree Study and the other one Landscape with Haystack, went for $9,600. Also, a tempera and oil on paper attributed to Claude Monet (Fr., 1840-1926), titled Sunrise, artist signed, 7 ¼ inches by 10 ¾ inches, unframed, fetched $7,200.

Two paintings linked to noted French artists posted identical winning bids of $6,000. One was a tempera and gouache on paper work attributed to Henri Matisse (1869-1954), titled Room Interior, signed, 10 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches unframed. The other was an oil on canvas after Jean Metzinger (1883-1956), signed and dated (June 1918), 47 ½ inches by 39 ½ inches in the frame.

An oil on canvas landscape painting (possibly of Old Lyme, Conn.), by Hungarian-American artist Maurice Braun (1877-1941), signed lower left and measuring 30 ¾ inches by 36 inches in the frame, garnered $4,800. Also, a watercolor and ink drawing attributed to the Spanish-born Surrealist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), titled Bullfight, signed and dated “3/3/67”, made $2,400.

An untitled oil on canvas painting attributed to Lee Krasner (Am., 1908-1984), the Abstract Expressionist painter who was married to Jackson Pollock, signed lower left, sold for $2,400; while a marker on paper attributed to counterculture illustrator Robert Crumb (Am., b. 1943), titled KOT (his iconic Keep On Trucking man), pencil signed and unframed, sold for $1,200.

Woodshed Art Auctions is a family-owned art gallery specializing in oil painting restoration and live and online art auctions, celebrating its 50th anniversary. The firm is always accepting quality artworks for future auctions.
