Apple Locks in Russia Trademarks Through 2036

(MENAFN) Apple has successfully extended protection for at least eight trademark registrations in Russia until 2036, Rospatent records revealed Friday.

The Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property documentation confirms the California-headquartered tech giant renewed legal rights to its recognizable "bitten apple" emblem plus multiple established brand identifiers—iWeb, Time Machine, and Mac Pro.

The extended trademark portfolio grants Apple authorization to commercially distribute mobile devices, computing hardware, audio equipment, gaming products, software applications, and telecommunications solutions within Russian territory.

Apple operates within a challenging Russian regulatory environment after halting official merchandise sales and shipments in early 2022 following the Ukraine conflict outbreak.

Official retail channels remain shuttered, yet Apple products continue circulating domestically through parallel importation channels sanctioned by Moscow authorities.

January marked the corporation's first new Russian trademark filing in over twelve months, with application procedures reportedly initiated during late 2023.
